Madness that hardly anyone’s voting for Saqlain – great average, great strike rate (both better than Warne’s and Murali’s) and two hat-tricks – what more does he need to do?

    My XI would be

Sanath Jayasuriya, Adam Gilchrist, Viv Richards, Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Michael Bevan, Imran Khan, Shaun Pollock, Muralitharan, Joel Garner, Glenn McGrath

six bowlers, and eight top order batsmen, will take on the martians very well.

In fact Saqlain was getting poorer as his career progressed. When Indians and Lankans got to know his doosra, he was manhandled by players like Ganguly, Sachin, de Silva and Ranatunga. Not to mention Jayasuriya as well. Warne and Murali on other hand kept their best performances at a length easily longer than Saqlains entire career. For me Murali > (Warne = Saqlain) in ODIs.
