To be fair to Mendis, there really arnt too many bowlers who can stop Sanath and Tendulkar when they are in that kind of mood.
Brutal, murderous and calculated. Sanath would have seen Mendis in the nets for ages so it would have been easier for him to pick him. But Tendulkar who had trouble with his back in Colombo took him apart in the brilliant way only he can.

Mendis didnt get too much turn and he seemed a little lost in the middle of the assault. To his credit he kept tossing it up. Which dint help cuz they ended up being too full.
Another tough lesson for the prodigy. And he needs to learn in quick time.
sure, he got carted around in two of the four overs he bowled, but the nature of the format is not very spinner-friendly. what was fantastic to see was that the way he maintained his friendly demeanour inspite of having a bad first couple of overs and like you mentioned, did not resort to throwing 100kph darts like many other spinners would. I think he’ll only get better every time he goes to bowl. classy fellow mendis.

what i think is happening is that…..he has got instructions either from the board or the senior SL players to not use/expose his full repertoire…..also,,,comeon he still is learning the ropes of his trade….lets be patient…..

Sri lanka need to do well in T20 WC.We hav a decent squad but performance is vital.Players like Mubarak is getting too many chances…eventhough he doesn’t have da skill he is in the good books of SL’s corrupt selectors….one guy is facing bribery charges in da hedging scandal and the other guy is promoting da no-baller cos’ he gives a buck to dis particular selector…dis selector is also promoting players employed in a particular bank,a local coach newly appointed in SL’s support staff is also involved in the bank mafia
he just started his career.even though the seniors are getting fired then be patient on Mendis, he may show his talent very quickly
