New Zealand v West Indies preview

And so, NZ take on WI for the battle of the coveted 8th spot on the test table.

Test series are a rare thing in the land of the sheep. A whopping total of 6 test matches have been played in New Zealand over the last 2 years.

So its a good chance for the new look Kiwi side to carve out a name for themselves.

New Zealand

Batting
Of the 6 matches played, the kiwis have won only 3, 2 of those against Bangladesh, so any lingering thoughts of a home team advantage should quickly be dispensed with.

The batting will largely depend on young Daniel Flynn. The question on everyone’s mind is – How many teeth will he loose this time.

Jesse Ryder will be expected to deliver as many runs asĀ  he eats pies, which we all feel might be just beyond Ryders abilities

Much will once again depend on Vettori and Mccullums late order batting to save the Kiwis from being embarrassed at home.

The Big news is – ORAM is back baby, All 6 foot and something of him. Surely this fact alone and Ross Taylors inclusion tilts the scales in the Kiwis favor.

Bowling

Vetorri leads the charges with the ball and might well be the key difference in the series with his brilliant left arm spin.

A pace attack consisting of the brilliant Iain O’Brien, for his blog not his bowling, and Gillespie does not seem that impressive, until you add Oram and James Franklin to the midst.

Orams bounce and Franklins swing and change of angle will add a new dimention to the kiwi attack.

West Indies

Batting
Nothing new here, all the work will be done by the old guard ; Gayle, Sarwan and da mAAn himself – Shiv Chanders.

Can anyone stop this man ?

Career average hitting 50, last two years its over a fucking 100. This year its up at 91. Fuck.

This is a machine we are talking about, an ugly machine thats slimy with grease and wobbles all over the place but still does better than than the shiny new ones in the warehouse.

Also keep an eye on Xavier Marshall and the white guy in the squad- Brendan Nash from Oztralia.

Bowling
Taylor, Powell, Edwards – how the islanders must be wishing these are names they can utter with pride like those 80s legends.

They aint bad, but are inconsistent. Got the height and ability to trouble the kiwis on helpful wickets.

The battle will be between them and the dodgy kiwi top order. Who ever wins will eventually be on top of the pile.

Prediction
Kiwis by a whisker we say. 1-0 but only because our man Dan got wickets and scored a back to wall 80.

70s Porno star moment

Calton Baugh. Check out the facial hair on this one.

27– Number of cream pies Jesse will devour

Andy Moles bit– rung some change since he came on board. Flipped the batting order about. What will come of it ? Stay tuned.

One Comment

  1. baugh never looked so tall.
never mind the low standards, this will be the test series of the year, like zim vs b’desh, only taller.
