Slinga returns

It wasnt a fairy tale comeback I was hoping for.

You know a cool 2 in 2 or a 5 in 5.

He went for 38 off his 4.

But more importantly he looked good and assured in his action and delivery. None of the apprehensive bullshit coming off an injury.

SO well done to the support staff for holding him back.

It was all there.

The yorkers.

The bushy afro-hair or whatever the hell it is.

The smile.

The highlights.

But what I love about this guy is the passion he brings into the team.

And the hope he inspires in every one of his deliveries.

He looks ready for ODIs and probably not for tests.

They say that will be in 2010 – The Year of the Slinga.

i’m glad he’s back…. at last…. we’ve been missing a quite a few fast bowlers recently… malinga is one of em…. i wonder where the hell welagedara is ….. wonder if he sorted out his run up problems…then there’s dammika prasad why didn’t he play in the odis…..

they must have thought playing malinga would pay off in the 2020 with his action and stuff and it’s after some time too…. must have hoped for tait like impact ( the bugger only does well in 2020) anyway thought malinga needed a pretty long spell like in an odi or a test not this 2020, soon after coming back……

still he’s back… good for us

What did Prasad do wrong in the First Test against Banglas that he was dropped for Dilhara in the second test and then disappeared off the radar?

Yeah its good to see the ‘Pocket Rocket’ back in action. Yeah he went for many runs but he looked good. Might need a few more matches to get his form back.

Prasad missing from the test squad?? What happened there?? And Dilhara makes it and not Prasad???? SL selectors better have a good reason for this..

kesh> its great to see him back, they put him in the 2020 cuz they said he wasnt ready to bowl longer spells, he might not play test cricket till 2010 it seems, so yeah. but it was good to see him run in hard.

inside> your guess is as good as mine, if memory serves it was prasad who changed that match after lunch when he got sakib out. this is sl selectors though, its to be expected. drop the performer for a retard.

    jdgoal>cheers,
and no they dont have a good reason, whatever reason they have is just not good enough. there is some favoritism going on as far as i can tell.

Damith, you are going through the phase that India went through – no matter who performed, Ajit Agarkar used to pop up in the squad selections. It took a long time for him to be dropped for good. Fernando seems to be the Sri Lankan equivalent both in talent, application and luck in selection. BTW, any relation to the great commentator, this muppet fast bowler?
