They keep bowling Fernan-do, but we say No No No

I wasn’t in the crowd yesterday. But if I was, that was what I would have been singing along with another 25000 strong crowd yesterday.

From being in a position ofย  complete and utter dominance, Dilshan and Fernando conspired to lose a game which would have made a teeny difference before heading to Pakistan.

A few things were made clear last night.

Dilshan should never captain a real cricket team for Sri Lanka. His slum-dog millionaire tactics of yelling and showing disgust every other ball was ugly to see and uncalled for.

Fernando is a failure to Sri Lankan cricket. When he sorts his no balls he bowls wides. He’s like a charging bull with no target. Has been for a while.

Your time has run out so fuck off and get lost.

That’s what I’d like to say to him but he’s been picked for Pakistan too.ย  If ever there was a case for him being dropped, yesterdays match was it.

Did Dilshan know Sanath had another over left ? Or that he has experience of over a thousand years ?

The answer to both must be No, cuz otherwise how the fuck do you explain the ball being given to Fernando when Santh had bowled 3 overs for 10 in a 2020.

It defeats reason, logic and every other fucking thing.

If he was scared of the Pathans belting the spinners you’d still think experience outranks Fernandos bullshit.

Fuck, he could have stripped off the gloves himself and bowled. Anyone but Fernando.

Fucken hell.

The end result showed the complete dominance India has had on SL.

One team believes they can win from anywhere, the other just fades into a hole when the shit hits the fan.

God Sehwag took mercy and ran himself out, again. The middle order packed up at 115-7.

India were still dead before Yousuf Pathan launched him self off against Malinga Bandara.

The leggie had bowled quite beautifully on a pitch that was offering spin and run through the Indian middle order and put the brakes on.

From the 9th over to the 15th India scored -34 (9,9,2,4,3,2,5)

In Bandaras last over, Indias 16th he went for 17. The tied turned and India never looked back.

The next 4 overs went 17,12,10,13.

SL only needed one wicket at that stage and the least likely to get one was Fernando.

The Pathans romped home 25 off his last 2.

Indias hold on SL was absolute.

i WAS in the crowd yesterday and believe me man, there were about 20,000 people trying to yell down Dilhara from bowling. Absolutely fucking moronic it was, and to think i was almost bored at one point thinking that we’d cruise to a too easy victory. im so disappointed dude

I can’t believe how SL Cricket continues to select a player who can’t ball 6 balls straight. But you have to give him credit, he loves to ball. That’s why he keeps balling no-balls and wides, so that he can keep on balling.

    NOT FUNNY!

Just as Sanath can single handedly win a match, Dilhara can single-handedly lose one. There can be no excuses. It has been the same over the years. He never improves and does not even seem like he’s training to get rid of his faults.

    AND THE WAY HE FIELDS!

I bet any schoolboy cricketer would do better. You do wonder whether he is playing with a different ball. A ball the size of a football.

He is a disgrace. But that doesn’t matter, I bet he has friends very high up in SLC.

Otherwise who in their right mind would select him?

Assumption: – the SLC selectors are in their right mind.

Do you think the assumption is reasonable?

Ah! Dilhara, the Sri Lankan Ajit Agarkar :-).
I used to wish why dont other teams have Agarkar when he played for India. Sympathies, Damith and Sri Lanka.
(atleast, Agarkar was a decent fielder, though)

Agarkar could play a decent batting innings when needed man. and I actually recall him getting some wickets!

jehan mubarak, he probably made us miss out on at least a good 15 runs or so with his slow batting, but he got that wicket first ball which almost compensated for it

Typical Fernando – India still had a bit to do at 132/7, so he sends down five wides of his second ball of the over. Rubbish.

Back all ready to blast Mahela’s captaincy and he goes and resigns!

    Dilhara should be sacked.

The guy who made TM Dilshan captain should be sacked. Everyone knows TMD has no brain.

Murali for Test Captain, Sanga for ODI. Senior spinner and WK as split captain worked pretty damn good for India.

insideEdge, Murali as captain? Somehow I dont feel he is up to it. But then the parallel you drew with India is very very interesting. Murali as Kumble, and Sanga as Dhoni ๐Ÿ™‚
And a tamilian leading Sri Lanka in Cricket might not happen for a long time if this chance is missed ๐Ÿ™‚

But considering that Prasanna can be played in the test side, I think Sanga for Tests make more sense. He wouldnt have to keep wickets. In ODIs, a triple role for Sanga seems too much.

The other Indian parallel is that a year and a half back, an Indian captain, who, prior to becoming captain was the best batsman in the side for 3 years – this man resigned stating “focussing on batting”, “for the better of the team” as reason. It was speculated like it is being now, that board politics and undue demands on non-cricketing affairs was affecting him and hence the resignation. That man’s batting form took a worse slump and he is barely in his last legs as a test cricketer now.
Mahela is two years younger than Rahul, here’s hoping that he comes back to his peak form in batting.

Leela> For years doctors were not able to figure out why I lost hair, it was Dilhara all along.

thewackster> I feel your pain. I was yelling the same in the living room. It was an incredibly stupid move, I have no idea what was in Dilshans brain, if he had one.

Jing> Hear a rumour that the guys have a soft spot for him, no idea why, maybe cuz of Dilharas soft spot- his head.

    I think you’d done better !

jj> Some might say his dads money.

    atch> Enough already !

raj>Ajit had some records to his name at least, Dilhara has shit for brains, Ajit wins.

Wackster> Jehans selection for a 2020 is retarded, he might be a big hitter but he cant do it from ball one.

His wicket did help but that doesnt count for shit imo.

Maharajah> Watch who ? and learn what ?

Dave> Rubbish is too soft, try, fucken retarded bowling from a bowler who has a pea for a brain which is stuffed with shit.

inside> was wondering where you had got to.
Dilhara shoulda got the boot a while back, how the fuck did he book a seat to Pakistan ? Beyond me.

Dilshan captains like he bats, no one knows when he is gonna crack. Or should it be crap.

Inside> Hashan was always a smart fella who had a big bum. Whats he up to these days ?
