The some random team are also known as the West Indies. Formerly Kings of Cricket and invincibles, this is what the WI have been reduced to. Of the 11 who walked out yesterday 7 were uncapped players.
I don’t know if that is a record, but it ought to be.
This would mean that Bangladesh are going into a test match as favorites for the first time. Apart from the matches they play against England of course.
But the important question is can they win? They should by all counts. Or at least get very very close. They have a good bowling attack led by Mortaza and Shakib. And If their batsmen can keep their wits about them and don’t blow themselves up in the middle, they should set WI a decent total.
It’s going to be interesting to see if they can actually achieve any of that. There is literally nothing for them to hide behind if they fail again.
No more excuses about having only played cricket for a decade.
No more whining about losing players to the ICL and floods.
No more bullshit about players opting to play in the IPL over country.
They are the more experienced side and the team which is more settled. Surely they must have gathered some cricketing knowledge in the decade or so of being thumped silly.
We have carefully avoided talking about the WI because there is no point. Besides there is no WI without Sarwan and that dude who does a killer impression of Krab Katich.
sad to see what has become of the West Indies innit? 🙁
chavie> it is indeed. even worse to see bangladesh flop again.
