Back in Colombo, the Stallions Cricketers took on a combined eleven from CricInfo Lanka for a 35 over
friendly. Being a home game we feel the Stallions behaved themselves the night before the game (unlike their last away game) ,unfortunately the result was not much different.
Put into bat, CricInfo got off to a decent start with the openers putting on 30 something between them expertly negotiating the nose high 150kmph (ok ok…. lets say 120kmph) snorters dished by the opening bowlers, only to be undone by a waste high full-toss (was it that simple??) which resulted in a skier to mid wicket in the 9th over by the first change.
From then on the sober Stallions kept pegging away, getting three more wickets at regular intervals.

However at the fall of the 4th wicket, opener Geslan (84*) was joined by Pulasthi (51) and the pair put on an invaluable partnership for the 5th wicket and at the healthy rate.

When the Stallions replied they did not get off to the best of starts losing the openers before the score reached 25. However Sacha (37) joined by Sagara (55) commenced the repair work.

With the last 10 overs to go the stallions required 80 runs and had 7 wickets in hand. However CricInfo managed to find constant breakthroughs not allowing the Stallions to break free, eventually emerging victorious by 11 runs.
