Hauritz does something wonderfully brilliant

Ponting

“I don’t think it was required, he changed [the gloves] the over before and I don’t think they’d be too sweaty in one over,”I’m not sure what the physio was doing out there. I didn’t see anyone call for the physio to come out.

Nice one Ricky. Of course it wasn’t required. No one wants to see moobs on the field.

Hauritz

“I wouldn’t be facing up as quickly every ball,” Hauritz said. “It’s an extremely nervous situation and that one wicket determines the 1-0 or 0-0 scoreline. They did their job. If I’m in that situation and I call for gloves, they won’t care.”

What the ? What the hell are you saying Nathan. Ricky just said its not on. And you are saying its ok. Didn’t Ricky even suggest its breaching the spirit of cricket, oh wait here it comes.

Ponting

“They can play whatever way they want to play. We came to play by the rules and the spirit of the game. It’s up to them to do what they want to do.

Oh snap. He just played the spirit of cricket card after asking Siddle to send a ball through Swanns neck and probably calling him a cunt and a fucking idiot along the way.

We bow  before you oh lord of the hypocrisy

Hauritz

Hauritz did not feel England breached the spirit of cricket guidelines. “Definitely not,” he said.

Well you are definitely stupid Nathan. If Ricky said the spirit was breached, It was breached.

Ponting

“I was unhappy with it, but it lasted a couple of minutes, and we got them off the ground. I don’t want to make that big a deal with it. I’m sure others will be taking it up with the England hierarchy, as they should.

Of course you don’t want to make a big deal about it. Certainly not after you went on and on about it at the press conference and asked that the authorities take a look at englands managment.

Hauritz

“I think it’s fantastic,” Hauritz said of the intensity of the first Test.

Nathan, what are you doing ? You just got a lucky break and picked up 6 wickets, but it’s too much to be knocking your captains views after one test. Even if they are wrong, what you are doing is worse. You are doubting the great Ricky Ponting.

He is secular . All knowing and always right. You don’t knock that man. You can’t. You can try, but you will fail.

But it is brilliant. Makes picking 4 fast bowlers for Lords an easier decision now.

I have a very simple rule to deal with this, it applies in many other sports like Football, Rugby and Tennis. Cricket is the only sport that lets anyone run on and off as they so wish.

No person shall enter the field without the permission of an umpire. Any person who shall enter without permission shall be banned from all cricket for one month per infraction.

The ban is from all cricket to catch people like Bilal Shafayat who are not international cricketers.

I remember the first test between SL and England at Kandy in 2007. With England hanging on the sub was coming every over and trying to wait for bad light. Umpire Asad Rauf got so pissed off that the next time there was an appeal he fired out the batsman. Poetic justice.

I like it! I think Hauritz is playing and behaving like a man who knows he is lucky to be here and thinks he may never be back. He’s enjoying the media spotlight while it lasts and why the hell not, I say??
